The Family Go Global staff is made up of a diverse group of educators from around the globe. We begin our hiring process by onboarding the best local bilingual educators in the countries we visit. We then offer two opportunities for visiting educators from the US 1) a paid summer teaching position for experienced educators and 2) an unpaid Cross-Cultural Teacher Practicum for new to mid-career teachers. Job Openings

  • Dates of Employment: July 2024
    Location: Costa Rica - Tamarindo, Arenal, San Mateo areas
    Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:00PM
    Pay: Prep Pay + Stipend
    Additional benefits: Daily lunch provided
    Requirements: Bilingual (Fluent) in Spanish and English, CPR and First Aid Certified

    Job Description:

    • Design engaging project and place based activities that share the beauty of Costa Rica

    • Manage multiple children while facilitating program rules, regulations and safety expectations

    • Facilitate fun, engaging and age appropriate camp activities and maintain positive energy and excitement among campers

    • Ensure a group of assigned campers is supervised and safe during on-site activities and especially during off-site excursions

    • Utilize appropriate behavior management techniques and model good behavior for campers as it relates to sportsmanship, manners, and respectfulness

    • Interact with parents in a professional and polite manner

    • Attend and engage in staff orientation sessions and meetings as required

    • Maintain camp facilities as they relate to your classroom or activities

International Teaching Practicum

Are you a new or mid-career educator that would like to hone your project and place based learning skills? Join us for a summer experience that combines work and play in a most beautiful natural setting. Our Teaching Practicum participants are offered a 1 or 2 week stay in Tamarindo, Costa Rica that includes the following:

  • Training in Project & Place Based Learning

  • Hands-on experience designing and delivering engaging lessons to a group of diverse international students

  • Workshops on progressive education frameworks like liberatory education, culturally sustaining pedagogy, bilingual education, classroom management, collaborative curriculum building, etc.

  • Cross-cultural team-building with educators from the US and Costa Rica

  • School tours of neighboring progressive international schools

  • Evening and weekend adventure activities like sunset dinners, zip-lining, bird-watching, river rafting and more!

Teachers are invited to sign up individually, or bring a team from your school! You can offset the cost of tuition using Professional Development or Teacher Morale Improvement funds. This unique cross-cultural experience is sure to inspire new ideas and provide both new skills to be successful in the classroom and the confidence to implement them upon their return.
